O.L.V. van Lourdes Ziekenhuis Waregem

The best care, high quality and a safe environment are essential in the O.L.V van Lourdes Ziekenhuis Waregem, in West Flanders. Since February 2021, the hospital has been using three Smileys Terminals to learn more about the experience of patients and staff. In addition, the hospital is also progressive and they like to focus on innovative projects.


The terminals allow us to quickly obtain information from our employees or patients, says Joline Goossens, Manager Quality & Innovation. Users can, if desired, always leave a comment immediately, so that we can gain even more insight.


Used for multiple purposes

The terminals are used for various purposes. For example, we use it to research whether patients find their way through the hospital easily, whether they are satisfied with their visit to a ward, whether they felt safe in times of the pandemic and whether they are satisfied with the reception and treatment in the hospital. hWe also often use the smileys for HR purposes. We recently started a healthy living campaign for our employees. As part of a project on sustainable mobility, we used the terminals to research whether employees came to work by car and, in the context of mental well-being, we asked, among other things, how they felt during the day.


The data obtained has already led to actual new plans. With the help of the Smileys, employees could share how involved they felt with the organization. The data showed that this could be done better. That is feedback that we could do something with. We have now set up a model to increase engagement and it will be implemented in June.


The collaboration with FourSmileys

The cooperation is very good. FourSmileys is always easily accessible, friendly and helpful. Certainly in the start-up phase, when we had not yet mastered the program, no question was too much. The products have brought us a lot and are used extensively. It's a nice way to get information quickly. We would therefore like to continue to use this in the future.
